Description
It is well documented that soldered fittings and compression fittings interrupt the flow of water around a heating system. Bending of copper pipe ensures unrestricted flow of water and can also create attractive, crafted finishes on installations.
Differences compared to a combi bender
The Monument Masters 1215K-XV, 1315-XVE, 1315Longarm-XVL, 1222G-XXII and 1322Extended-XXIIE create similar bend radiuses to a Monument 2600K combi bender; in fact the 1222G has a slightly tighter radius that the 2600K combi bender, as this radius is tighter it creates a slightly different profile on the outside of the bend when compared to a combi.
We believe the 1215K-XV, the 1315XVE, the 1315Longarm-XVL, the 1222G-XXII and the 1322Extended-XXIIE are easier to use than a combi bender:
- less cumbersome – you are only using a bender for the size of pipe being bent
- less fiddly – with the integrated hook and nylon guide, your hook stop won’t flop from side to side and the guide(s) won’t fall out
- better sight lines – as the bend is in the same plane as the Arms of the bender it is easier to line up by eye
- lighter in the hand than a combi. The Monument combi weighs more than 4kg; the XV weighs 1.5kg; the XXII weighs 2.3kg
- 15mm XV is much smaller than a combi; arm length is 40cm compared to a combi arm length of 65cm. Note the 15mm XVL & 22mm XXII arm lengths are about 60cm
- throating occurs on testing with the XV, XVE (XVL) XXII, XXIIE as well as Monument 2600K and a Hilmor® GLM
